Campus Pastor Elder WendelL & First Lady Jenkins

Pastor Wendell Jenkins, Sr. was born to Frances and Garfield Jenkins on April 17, 1969, in Macon, GA. Mother Ella M. Jenkins was born to Peggy L. Bray and Walter L. Jordan on December 9, 1970 in Detroit, Michigan. After enlisting in the United States Army, Pastor and Mother Jenkins joined in Holy Matrimony on December 30, 1989, at Center Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Leroy Reeves, Sr. To this union the Lord has given three wonderful children, Natasha, Wendell Jr., and Matthew.

Upon receiving military orders, Pastor and Mother Jenkins were assigned to Fulda, Germany where they took membership at a non-denominational chapel on base under the leadership of Pastor Underwood. Mother Jenkins served as a choir member and Pastor as an usher.

After completion of this overseas tour, they were stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. They became members of Zion Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop A. Ladell Thomas, Sr. While members here, Pastor again served with the Usher Board and as a part of the Brotherhood ministry and Mother Jenkins was a part of the choir and attended noonday prayer faithfully.

Completing his duty at Fort Hood, Texas, Pastor and Mother Jenkins received orders to PCS to Schweinfurt, Germany where they attended New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Arlee Robinson, Sr. During this time the Lord elevated Pastor Jenkins to become a Deacon, an office that he faithfully served as well as being an active part of the Brotherhood. Mother Jenkins accepted her call into the ministry and became an Aspiring Missionary; she continued with the choir and served with the Finance Committee.

Upon the family moving to Fort Knox, Kentucky, they attended Hope Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Dwight Haygood, Sr. While attending faithfully, Pastor Jenkins heard the gospel call to ministry and was subsequently licensed as a minister and Aspiring Missionary Jenkins sang in the choir, attended noonday prayer and was the Vice-President of the Deacons’ Wives Circle.

The Jenkins again returned to Germany, to serve in Baumholder, where they joined the Liberty Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Tracey Boyd. Mother Jenkins has faithfully served wherever the need arose in every area of the Women’s Ministry and served as the Church Mother. Before being appointed as Pastor, Elder Jenkins served with the Brotherhood under the pastoral leadership of Elder Boyd and Minister Lonnie Horne. During this time, Missionary Jenkins received Evangelist Missionary License and Minster Jenkins was ordained an Elder under the leadership of Bishop Carlis L. Moody, Sr., and Mother Stella M. Watson, the set leaders here in the Germany Jurisdiction.

The Jenkins family transitioned back to the states to Columbus Georgia in August of 2013 where they reside. And with much prayer and fasting they joined the Higher Ground International Ministry under the Leadership of Senior Pastor Arlee Robinson Jr. Elder  Jenkins went to work on the Brotherhood and the Pastor's Aide while Missionary Jenkins worked on the financial committee and in the women’s department. Elder Jenkins was appointed as Campus Pastor of Higher Ground International Ministry Columbus location in July 2021.

Pastor and Lady Jenkins are blessed to serve the Lord’s people at the Higher Ground International Church of God in Christ with faithful and dedicated service to the glory of Almighty God.
